Why is the Honda Accord a Popular Car in Nigeria?

The Honda Accord has been one of the best-selling mid-size sedans for decades and it doesn’t look like its sales are going to slow down anytime soon. Generation after generation, the Accord has gotten bigger, more efficient, and more intuitive, which has further strengthened its sales numbers over the years.

But why is the Honda Accord so popular? In this article, we share with you the top reasons why the Honda Accord remains a popular car to date.

The Honda Accord Has a Great Size

Now in its eleventh generation, the Honda Accord has grown larger in size both inside and out, however, it’s still sized right for solo drivers and budding families alike. With ample seating for five, the Accord’s interior dimensions dwarf those of compact cars like the Honda Civic, boasting four more inches of rear-seat legroom and a little more headroom.

While some buyers might think that the Accord feels “too big,” it’s actually sized perfectly for a family of four or a friend group of five.

The Honda Accord is a Reliable Sedan

You can’t mention Honda without mentioning its renowned reputation for reliability, and the Accord’s reliability is no exception. The current generation Accord received an overall score of 82 out of 100 from both J.D. Power and Consumer Reports, with a 3 out of 5 rating for “predicted reliability from the latter. What that means is that any newer Accord you buy will last for hundreds of thousands of miles.

The Honda Accord has a Choice of Transmissions

One of the other reasons that the Honda Accord is so popular is that it’s pretty flexible when it comes to the engine and transmission combinations as well. Until the end of the 2020 model, you can still find Accords with manual transmissions if you’re looking for a new model, but if you’re looking for a used one, you might have better odds.

For example, the Honda Accord Sport models from 2016 to 2017 were also available with manual transmissions, as were some of the V6 trims. If you only need two doors, then we recommend finding an Accord coupe with the V6 engine and six-speed manual transmission from 2009 to 2016, as that model was surprisingly quick, given its pedestrian appearance.

Conclusion

No matter which way you cut it, the Honda Accord is one of the most spacious, affordable, pragmatic, and fun mid-size sedans on the new and used market, so you really can’t go wrong with almost any model year.
