The Honda Civic I-Robot is the eighth generation of the Honda Civic. It’s a small car made by Honda from 2005 to 2012, coming after the seventh model. It comes in four different styles: sedan, coupe, and two types of hatchback. In 2006, Honda came out with a new Civic design, which hasn’t changed much since then. It comes in a sedan with four doors or a coupe with two doors. The Civic is known for its precise steering, powerful brakes, spacious interior, and adaptable suspension. There are eight versions to choose from, including DX, LX, EX, EX-L, Si, Si Mugen, GX, and hybrid. The Si Mugen, GX, and hybrid models are only in sedan form with four doors.

Performance and Fuel Economy

The Civic DX, LX, and EX models have a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 140 horsepower and 128 pound-feet of torque. They can be paired with a five-speed manual transmission or an optional five-speed automatic, sending power to the front wheels. The GX model also has a 1.8-liter engine, but it runs on compressed natural gas, generating 113 hp. Its range is limited to 200 miles, but you can refuel it at home with Honda’s Phill device. The Civic Si gets a boost with a 197-hp 2.0-litre engine and an exclusive six-speed manual transmission with a performance-enhancing limited-slip front differential.

The 1.8-litre engine provides good fuel efficiency: the EPA estimates for an automatic-equipped Civic are 24 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. The GX achieves similar numbers. On the other hand, the Hybrid model maximizes fuel economy with its gasoline/electric hybrid powertrain. It combines a 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine with Honda’s IMA technology and a continuously variable transmission, delivering 110 hp and impressive fuel ratings of 40/45 mpg.

The Civic has a unique dashboard layout, with an analogue tachometer in the usual spot but a digital speedometer and gas gauge placed at the bottom of the windshield. Some drivers find this two-tier setup distracting, while others appreciate how it makes checking speed quick and easy. Overall, the Honda Civic remains one of the top small cars, offering plenty of room, interior storage, and refinement. Its controls are user-friendly, and the materials used are high-quality. The regular Civic sedans have around 12 cubic feet of trunk space, but this decreases to about 10 for the Hybrid and 6 for the GX because of the space taken up by their powertrain hardware.

Safety

Dual front airbags, side-impact curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes, active front-seat headrests, front-seatbelt pretensioners, and tire-pressure monitoring are standard across the Civic lineup. Stability control is standard on the Si coupe and sedan and the Si Mugen sedan but is unfortunately not available on the rest of the Civic lineup.
