Rolls-Royce has recently unveiled a new limited series of the Ghost Black Badge, named the Ekleipsis Private Collection. Only 25 units of this model will be produced, taking inspiration from the “drama, spectacle, and mystery” of a solar eclipse. This launch comes at an opportune time, as an eclipse is set to occur on October 14th.
The 6.75L TwinTurbo V12 engine has been upgraded with an ECU tune that boosts its output to 592 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque (900nm). This allows the car to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all wheels (AWD). Additionally, the gearbox has a “Low” mode, which is essentially a sport mode that enables faster shifts – up to 50% faster.
The exterior of the car is painted in a unique shade of Lyrical Copper using a special powdered copper pigment process, which creates an iridescent effect. The car is also accented with Mandarin detailing, a hand-painted coachline, and custom wheels. Inside, the interior is finished in a dramatic combination of Mandarin and black perforated leather. The dashboard boasts 1,846 laser-etched stars, which took 100 hours to create. The accompanying timepiece also features a 0.5-carat diamond, which completes the luxurious look of the car.
After 7 minutes and 31 seconds of displaying a wild Starlight Headliner with a black centre surrounded by 940 stars and 192 scattered stars, the headliner returns to its normal starry appearance.
