Multiple Fatal Accidents In Lagos, Two Killed & Many Injured

A tragic accident occurred in Lagos on Friday, 29th April, at 2:15 am. It was an accident that involved a tanker, a truck, two Danfo commercial buses, and a Camry. The accident scene was at the Maryland–Ojota axis of the state. Information gathered states that the crashes involved different vehicles at the Odo Iya Alaro area located on the bridge linking Maryland and Ojota on Ikorodu road.

According to an eyewitness report, the commercial bus carrying six women who went for their early morning purchase was coming from Mile 12 before the accident occurred.

The accident occurred because the truck was filled with 30 tons of sharp sand, running into the Toyota Camry from the rear and spilling the sand it was carrying over the Camry car. The occupant of the Camry car and truck was able to escape unhurt. But, two people died on the spot.

Among the deceased are a man and a woman identified as Blessing. The man was handed over to SEHMU at the scene while the woman’s family members came to take her.

Aside from the deceased, several others involved in the accident were injured and were taken to nearby hospitals by the Federal Road Safety Commission, LASAMBUS, LASEMA, LASTMA, and NEMA.
