The 2022 Mercedes GLS63 AMG comes equipped with a standard twin-turbo 4.0 V-8 engine that produces 603 horsepower with the help of a 48-volt hybrid system. All-wheel drive is standard, as is a nine-speed automatic transmission and air suspension.

The GLS63 AMG EPA estimates that the vehicle’s fuel economy is 14 mpg city and 18 mpg highway. What the GLS63 AMG lacks in fuel economy, it makes up for in its three-row sporty interior with adequate headroom and leg room for passengers. However, experts note that the third row of the GLS63 AMG is tighter for adults compared to children.

The GLS63 comes standard with a dual-screen infotainment setup found in the non-AMG variant. Two 12.3-inch screens, nestled next to each other in a shared bezel, form the digital gauge display and centre infotainment display. Mercedes-Benz’s new MBUX interface can be controlled via voice, touchscreen, or with the click wheel mounted on the centre console. Also standard in the GLS63 AMG is the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

The 2022 GLS63 AMG comes equipped with various driver-assistance features, and here are some of the key safety features in the vehicle:

  • Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
  • Available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode

The 2022 Range Rover comes in three trim levels, and buyers can choose either a turbocharged inline-six with a 48-volt hybrid system dubbed P400 that produces 395 horsepower or a thundering twin-turbo 4.4 V-8 engine that produces 523 horsepower. However, all trims come standard with off-road-capable features, such as an all-wheel-drive system, a rear-wheel steering system, and an air suspension that can be raised for extra ground clearance.

The 2022 Range Rover welcomed a new redesign for the Range Rover model, and this redesign introduced new stylish features, new tech, and luxury touches to the vehicle.

The entry-level P400 is rated for 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, while the V-8–powered P530 has earned 16 mpg city and 21 mpg highway estimates. With this, the Range Rover is better than the 2022 GLS63 AMG in terms of fuel economy.

The interior offers a plush space decked out with rich leathers and woods; buyers who want a more sustainable cabin can now opt for a new leather-free option, which subs-in wool or other textiles. Depending on configuration and wheelbase, the interior can be arranged to seat four, five, or seven. Like the GLS63 AMG, the third row may not fit tall adults as the headroom is limited, but shorter riders and kids will find it nearly as comfortable as the second row.

All trim levels of the 2022 Range Rover received a new 13.1-inch curved infotainment display with Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro interface. Standard in the vehicle is the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the system also receives Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. Other standard features include in-dash navigation, wireless smartphone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 13.7-inch digital gauge display. A rear-seat entertainment system with dual 11.4-inch displays and a Meridian stereo system with 35 speakers are available.
