A Nigerian man posted a video of an ancient Mercedes limousine he says belongs to a former Nigerian Premier, whom many believe is Obafemi Awolowo. The man explains that he wants to purchase and restore the vehicle to a better position.

He wanted to restore the vehicle so he could gift it to Chess In Slums, a Nigerian NGO focused on teaching children in Nigerian slums how to play Chess.

He says he wants the vehicle to become a means for transporting the kids to places where they could learn Chess. In the tweet, he indicated that it’d cost approximately 6 Million to buy and fix the vehicle to a standard condition.

He equally breaks down the cost stating that installing the right engine, workmanship, lubricants, hoses, and brainbox will cost 1 million. Bodywork and painting will cost 1 million, and lights and electric lights in the vehicle will cost 1.2 million. The tires and wheels will cost 500k while fixing the interior will require about 1.5 million.

Since posting the video of the car, many social media users have reacted by saying:

@elSenorPluto said: 6m to restore this former bad boy up to standard is doubtful. Merc made this car so complicated that some features were a one-time affair for them. The seat, sunroof, window-are all hydraulics. But you know that already. Once the most expensive, now rusty. Time wins again.
