  • The 2023 and 2024 Toyota Sequoia share A LOT more similarities than disadvantages.
  • Since its redesign for 2023, has Toyota made any major changes to the 2024 model?
  • We look through these two Sequoia models to help you determine if it’s indeed right to spend money on the new model or get the 2024 model.

The Sequoia has been redesigned for 2023 and rides on the same underpinnings as the new Tundra, Land Cruiser, and the Lexus LX600. It’s available only as a hybrid and features a new look inside and out. The Toyota Sequoia has always been a full-size, three-row SUV based on the platform of the Tundra pickup truck.

That doesn’t change with the new generation arriving for the 2023 model year. The rest does: the new model is far more modern than the outdated second-generation Sequoia it replaces, which has been around for over a decade.

Below, we’ll be looking at the specifications of the 2023 Toyota Sequoia and 2024 to determine if there are any major changes between both vehicles.

Both the 2023 and 2024 Toyota Sequoia features high-tech upgrades. Inside, an impressive 14-in. touchscreen display gives you access to all your multimedia needs, while a 10-in. Head-Up Display (HUD) superimposes essential info on your windshield to help you drive undistracted. The Sequoia is also spacious, giving enough room for families/people who need it.

Available only with both Sequoias is a Sliding Third Row with an Adjustable Cargo Shelf System, which allows the third row to slide with 6 inches of adjustment range. The third row can also fold down to complement the different storage positions of the new Adjustable Cargo Shelf System: a removable shelf that can be set in a variety of storage positions depending upon the situation. 2023 and 2024 Toyota Sequoia Exteriors, Are They Same?

The Sequoia was redesigned for 2023 and it comes in five trims which are; SR5, TRD Sport, Limited, TRD Pro, and Platinum. We think the Limited will likely be the best value in the lineup. However, these are all the same trims you’ll find in the 2024 Sequoia as well.

2023 and 2024 Toyota Sequoia Safety Features, Are They Same?

Being driver-conscious, the Japanese automobile company, Toyota has added a few safety features to the 2023 and the 2024 Toyota Sequoia. The standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, and standard adaptive cruise control. Both SUVs also have a three-year limited warranty, and complimentary maintenance is covered for two years.

2023 Vs. 2024 Toyota Sequoia: What’s The Big Difference?

The 2023 and 2024 Toyota Sequoia share practically the same features from the exterior to its interior. However, Toyota added a few extra features to the 2024 Toyota Sequoia. What’s the new addition?

For the 2024 Sequia, Toyota added the Limited Nightshade trim that comes with unique 20-inch TRD wheels painted in a matte black finish to match other blacked-out exterior appearance items. Also, buyers can get the platinum trims with the same TRD Off-Road package that was available on the 2023 Limited trim.

The package adds an off-road suspension system with Bilstein shocks, a skid plate, an electronically controlled locking rear differential, off-road driving modes, a crawl control system, a hill-descent control function, and a few specific appearance items. Limited models with the TRD Off-Road package now also come with a blacked-out exterior appearance.

Should I Buy the 2023 or 2024 Toyota Sequoia?

Sometimes you are not buying difference but model year, especially when it comes to cars. That’s exactly the case for the 2023 and 2024 Toyota Sequoia. While both model years have similarities than they have differences, it’s important to know that Toyota introduced the Limited Nightshade trim, which gets 20-inch TRD wheels, making it even more efficient for off-road driving.

As such, if you live in Nigeria and want an affordable SUV that will give you the best driving experience through Nigerian roads, we recommend the 2024 model, at least, just its Limited Nightshade trim.

Helpful Buyers’ Guide for the Toyota Sequoia

The price for this automobile has not been announced but due to the modifications, it is expected to be more expensive than the 2022 model. The Limited trim can be more expensive than other trims because it has a larger touchscreen, a power liftgate, heated-and-cooled front seats, and a power-folding third row.
