Honda has recently unveiled the CR-V e:FCEV, which happens to be the first-ever hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicle made in the United States for mass-market sale. Additionally, it is a plug-in hybrid vehicle. Although it resembles a regular CR-V, it has a unique front fascia, clear taillights, and two filler caps.

Beneath the surface, the vehicle has a front electric motor that produces 174 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. The hydrogen tank can hold 4.3 kilograms of hydrogen, providing a range of 270 miles, and there’s also a 17.7 kWh battery pack that can provide an additional 29 miles of range. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified all of these specifications.

A significant amount of technology is included in this vehicle, such as bidirectional charging. It also has a one-of-a-kind suspension with a multi-link rear, a MacPherson strut front and unique stabilizer bars, dampers, and springs. Honda has unveiled its Gen2 FuelCell module, co-developed with General Motors and produced in Michigan.

This Fuel Cell PHEV will only be available in the Touring trim and will be available for lease in California in late 2024, and possibly available in Nigeria by 2025
