The Peugeot 408 is a mid-size sedan manufactured by the French automobile giant Peugeot especially for the Chinese market with back plans to sell the car in their major partnering countries as well around the world as well. The Peugeot 408 was first unveiled on January 25, 2010at the Beijing Auto Show with sales kicking off in China on April 8. Production for the Peugeot 408 also commenced in November 2010 in El Palomar, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and hitting the market in April 2011 and has continued production for two generations (2010-2014, 2014-present).  Contrary to popular belief the 408 isn’t the successor 407 model, it is rather a unique model on its own created for specific car market demands and requirements to meet shoppers’ needs and promoted by Peugeot as a family mid-size luxury saloon car.
