Various transportation companies in Nigeria have hiked their transportation fare following the increase in the price of petrol in the country.

Some transportation companies have increased the price of transportation by 100%, and it’s set to get even worse during the festive period.

This follows the removal of fuel subsidy and the fuel price increase from N189 per litre to over N500 per litre. As Nigerians were still coming to terms with the increase, the prices were increased from N586 per litre to N640 per litre in some states.

Companies like GIG Motors, ABC Transport, Chisco Transport, Ifesinachi Transport, and many others have doubled their fares.

For instance, Lagos to Ibadan went from N1000/N1,500 to N2,500/N3,000. Lagos to Abeokuta went from N1,500/N1,800 to N3,500.

Lagos to Enugu went from N9,000 to N21,000. Port Harcourt to Lagos went from N9,000 to N16,000 – N25,000. Lagos to Ogoja (Cross River) went from N11,000 to N22,000, a 100% increase in price.
