Hyundai has a new electric pickup truck coming into the market quite soon, and the vehicle is aiming to be a direct competitor for the Ford F-150 lightning. Hyundai is set to dominate the auto market with its new pickup truck.

What’s most interesting about Hyundai’s new truck is that the brand is mostly dominating in its sedan and SUVs line, and the tuck is about the completely change the game.

As well as increasing its presence in the truck segment, Hyundai plans to take up against the Ford F-150 Lightning and, eventually, the Tesla Cybertruck.

However, Hyundai hasn’t gone into details about the truck other than stating that it’ll be developed on the second-generation E-GMP platform. It’s the same platform that vehicles such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 are built on.

In addition, the Hyundai truck will be a unibody pickup closer to the Santa Cruz truck. This means the truck will be a more lifestyle-oriented vehicle rather than for utility.

Also, Hyundai plans to extend the range of its next-generation EVs by implementing “cutting-edge technology.” The technology will enable battery charging and discharging while driving, utilizing independent power, more like a power bank.

Interestingly, the Hyundai electric truck is not meant for only the international market as it’ll be offered globally according to the brand. This will help Hyundai reach its 2 million annual sales of Hyundai vehicles and 1.6 million Kia by 20230. To equally achieve this, Hyundai plans on investing over $84.7 billion towards vehicle electrification.
