2024 Toyota RAV4 Overview
While the 2024 Toyota RAV4 is not different from the 2023 model, that doesn’t mean the 2024 RAV4 will be sitting stagnant on the sidelines while rivals like the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Subaru Forester, and Nissan Rogue have all the fun. For 2024, Toyota added an army green colour, a paint colour already seen on several of Toyota’s bigger trucks and SUVs to the 2024 RAV4. Also, the hue colour will be offered on the Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims as a no-cost option. A two-tone colour combo will also be available for these variants, paired with either a white or a black roof.
The 2024 Toyota RAV4 will mark the sixth year of production for the current-generation RAV4. Since the model’s introduction in 2019, Toyota has also added some new tech features and new trim levels to this 2024 model. However, the vehicle has not been redesigned.
The 2024 RAV4 Hybrid just like the 2023 model features an angular design with deep body lines, a chiselled front end, dual exhaust outlets, and chunky tail lights. Toyota offers the RAV4 Hybrid in a wide range of trims that include the sporty XSE with an available black roof and black wheels, as well as the upscale Limited trim with an extra bit of chrome.
The 2024 RAV4 is available in six trim levels: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road and Limited. Front-wheel drive is standard on most of the trim levels, with all-wheel drive offered as an option.
2024 Honda CR-V Overview
The 2024 Honda CR-V is a superb, well-considered package. It does everything right, including build quality, cabin space, safety, and easy-to-use tech. Although the CR-V is still fresh with a new redesign, the 2024 model year comes with a few new adjustments and additions Honda introduced in 2024. For the 2024 model year, Honda adds a Sport-L trim level to the lineup. The new Sport-L stands between the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trims. Just like these two models, it’s also offered in hybrid.
The 2024 Honda CR-V comes in six different trim levels LX, EX, Sport Hybrid, EX-L, Spory-L Hybrid & Sport Touring Hybrid. For the 2024 CR-V, the front-wheel drive will be standard, while the all-wheel drive will be optional. The CR-V comes with some interesting upgrades in the interior features, which will be discussed below.
2024 Toyota RAV4 Vs. 2024 Honda CR-V: Engine and Performance
For the 2024 RAV4, Toyota added a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine up front that produces 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Front-wheel drive comes standard on all RAV4 trims but the Adventure and TRD Off-Road, which only come with all-wheel drive. The LE, XLE, and XLE Premium have the option of the AWD system. The 2024 RAV4 isn’t a fast car at all. Experts note that it goes from 0-60mph in 9.1 seconds. It will comfortably drive you around town. But, speed is where the RAV4 draws the line.
On the other hand, the 2024 Honda CR-V comes standard with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower and is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and either a front or all-wheel drive. The Sport and Sport Touring only comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with two electric motors for a combined 204 horsepower. The Sport can be had in either front or all-wheel drive. However, the front-wheel drive comes standard in the Sport Touring.
2024 Toyota RAV4 Vs. 2024 Honda CR-V: Interior Quality
The interior of the Toyota RAV4 SUV remains top-notch as it didn’t experience any major upgrades from the previous model.
The driving position, roominess, and ease of getting in and out are all good. But the RAV4 would be better if the front passenger seat wasn’t set so high or could be adjusted down on most trims. Only the RAV4 Limited gets a power-adjustable front passenger seat. The driver’s seat and steering wheel have a good range of adjustment, but tall drivers might want a smidge more adjustability. Outward visibility is praiseworthy. The interior also speaks of quiet and comfortable ride quality. Also, the SUV boasts abundant cargo and passenger space.

That LE trim has a lower price because it uses cloth seats, hard black plastics throughout, a leather-free steering wheel, and single-zone manual climate control. The XLE tries a little harder, adding a second two-tone cabin option as well as a few more features. The XLE Premium cuts the compromises, done up with faux-leather upholstery, pleasant plastics, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a stitched and padded dashboard and centre-console armrest.
Lower trims of the 2024 RAV4 come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, but the Limited and the TRD Off-Road trims get a 10.5-inch display system. The infotainment system includes a 4G LTE mobile hotspot and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. There’s also a JBL premium audio system, navigation, and a wireless charging pad for a smartphone are optional. Most models come with a separate 7.0-inch display in the gauge cluster, but a 12.3-inch fully digital gauge display is optional on the XLE Premium and TRD Off-Road and is standard on the Limited.
The 2024 Honda CR-V on the other hand comes with an interior quality that is higher than the 2023 model. For the Sport-L trim, it comes with leather seats and a four-way power passenger seat. However, the standard of the 2024 CR-V is a 7.0-inch display that allows the driver to swap between different menus on the infotainment easily.
According to Honda, the front seats are designed to decrease driver fatigue on long trips, and the new CR-V’s driving position has been improved. Between the front-seat passengers also appears a large centre console bin, and behind them are reclining back seats with an extra 0.6-inch of rear legroom.
The new Sport-L trim introduced for the 2024 model year, comes with a wireless charging pad, satellite radio, driver’s seat memory, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto capability. The Sport-L comes standard with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an eight-speaker audio system.
However, the standard on the 2024 Honda CR-V is a 7.0-inch infotainment system that’s seen in the LX, EX, and Sport trims. The device features physical volume and tuning knobs as well as Apple CarPlay and Andriod capabilities. The EX-L and Sport Touring trim has a 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto.

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 has a standard suite of driver aids that is very impressive. It includes adaptive cruise control that works down to 0 mph, automatic emergency braking, drowsy driver detection, automatic high beams, lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control and something called Line Tracing Assist, which is an active (but not hands-free) steering aid.
For every CR-V, Honda is equipped with a lot of standard driver-assistance technology, and the 2024 Honda CR-V is not left out. Some key standard features in the 2024 CR-V include driver-attention monitor, traffic sign recognition, forward-collision warning & automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
