The Nigeria Police has recently launched an online platform called the Central Motor Registry Information System (CMRIS) to simplify and improve the management of vehicle information. The platform allows vehicle owners to register their vehicles and obtain a Motor Vehicle Information Certificate. This initiative aims to centralise information on vehicles that are being used on Nigerian roads, which will help in investigating vehicle thefts and speeding up the vehicle recovery process.

In Nigeria, it is compulsory to process CMR for every vehicle registered. CMR stands for Central Motor Registry which was kind of manually handled by the Nigeria Police Force.

About CMRIS

One of the duties of the Nigeria Police Force is to protect the lives and property of all persons in Nigeria.
