Don’t Buy The Toyota Camry, Buy The Honda Accord Instead; Here’s Why

The Toyota Camry is the number one selling midsize sedan globally and it’s no wonder that many people love buying it. With distinct exterior and interior styling, excellent fuel economy, and renowned build quality, the Camry is an easy pick among others in its class.

However, the Honda Accord has long been a fan favourite and has some attributes that prove that it is a better buy than the Camry.

Here is why you should avoid the Camry and buy a Honda Accord instead.

  1. Seating Comfort

Both cars have ample seating room in the front and rear seats and come standard with cloth seating surfaces. However, when opting for the higher trim level in the Accord, you’ll get luxurious amenities like power-adjustable heated front seats with ventilation, heated rear seats, and real leather.

On the other hand, the Camry can only be upgraded with synthetic leather, which is technically a downgrade considering the price you pay for it.

  1. Cargo Space Volume

If you’re looking for more space to put your junk in the trunk, then the Honda Accord is the better way to go, as its trunk space measures 16.7 cubic feet.

By comparison, the Toyota Camry’s trunk measures at a smaller 15.1 cubic feet, and for some reason, the base Camry L trim level’s trunk is one cubic foot smaller at 14.1.

  1. Quality of the Interior

Don’t get us wrong, the interior quality between both of the cars it’s top-notch when it comes to fit and finish. However, the overall layout of the Honda Accord is much more user-friendly and looks more sophisticated and Acura-like.

The Toyota Camry’s interior is nice, even with the redesign; however, the interior quality of the Accord is better.

  1. Driving Dynamics

The Toyota Camry is available with a 3.5-litre V6 engine that produces 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, while the Accord’s top engine is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that produces 252 and 273, respectively.

Having more torque is important when it comes to daily driving, and the Accord’s driving dynamics are much smoother, and the car is more fun to drive overall

Conclusion

Despite their differences, there are many arguments that can be made for going with either the Honda Accord or the Toyota Camry. They have both been redesigned recently, so it’s up to the buyer to decide which works best for them. However, the Honda Accord offers great overall value in a much more sophisticated package, which is why it’s better than the Toyota Camry.
