Ubi Ekapong Ofem, popularly known as Ubi Franklin was born on the 2nd of February 1986 in Cross River State, the South-South region of Nigeria.
He is the 11th child of 15 children born to his parents. He spent his primary and secondary education in Calabar, Cross River State. For his university education, he enrolled at Madonna University in Anambra State where he studied Law. His venture into studying law is speculated to be a result of his father being a high court judge.
Ubi Franklin was first married to the Nollywood actor Lilian Esoro in 2015. The marriage produced a son, Jayden, in 2016. After separating from Lilian in 2016, he later got married to Mary Scott, a makeup artist, hairstylist, creative director and fashionista.
Currently, he has four children, two girls (Zaneta and Ariella) and two boys, (Jayden and Shiloh).
