Nigeria’s automotive sector is fastly moving to fully electrify as more EVs are hitting the country with some expensive high-end and affordable, The Federal Government of Nigeria in 2023 sets a target on the production of electric vehicles in Nigeria, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Evelyn Ngige said this in Abuja during the Validation Workshop of the Draft National Action Plan for the Development of EVs in Nigeria.
This encourages Nigeria-based car dealers to increase their importation of electric vehicles, as the first quarter of 2024 saw the highest influx of electric cars into the country as we introduce the most affordable EV in Nigeria, the 2023 Neta V.
The Neta Aya previously named Neta V, is an electric subcompact crossover SUV produced by Hozon Auto under the Neta (Nezha) brand, a Chinese all-electric car brand, which is built by the Zhejiang Hezhong New Energy Automobile Company. In August 2023, Neta V was renamed as Aya.
In August 2023, the updated model of the 2023 Neta V with upgraded exterior and interior was launched. The vehicle was renamed Neta Aya in China and Neta V-II elsewhere.
2023 Neta V Specifications
The 2023 Neta V right-hand drive version has a length, width and height of 4,070 mm, 1,690 mm, 1,540 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,420 mm. The model is powered by a single motor with a maximum power of 70 kW and a maximum torque of 150 Nm and has an NEDC range of 384 km.
The Neta V right-hand-drive version also supports V2L external discharge and can be readily used as a mobile power source.
