Burna Boy’s recent acquisition went viral last week when the Grammy-winning artist spent around ₦2 billion on a brand-new 2024 Ferrari Purosangue ultra-luxury SUV to mark a successful 2024, recall American rapper Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, professionally known as Gunna, along with Shallipopi and Rahman Jago, joined Burna Boy in picking up his newly acquired Ferrari at the dealership.
The Purosangue SUV boasts a stunning design, marking a first for Ferrari with its robust build and low, wide stance. It features rear doors and a spacious back seat, catering to buyers seeking a Ferrari that doubles as a family car. However, it ultimately prioritizes performance. Equipped with a 715-hp, naturally aspirated V-12 engine and an advanced all-wheel-drive system borrowed from the Ferrari FF, along with an innovative active suspension that nearly eliminates body roll, the Purosangue stands out in its class, surpassing many high-end competitors.
This 2024 Purosangue SUV is the first four-door, four-seat car in Ferrari’s history, Technically, it’s classified as an FUV (Ferrari Utility Vehicle), rather than a conventional SUV. The name Purosangue translates to “pureblood” in Italian, reflecting its high-performance roots. It features a naturally aspirated

The front door has a convenient opener located on the door panel, and there’s a latch for the rear door that opens automatically. You’ll find a rear door with a unique “suicide” design, which closes with a simple push of the latch. To close the rear door, just sit down and press a button located on the B pillar—it will automatically close for you. The Purosangue hosts two individual adjustable back seats, maintaining a limit of five occupants total. Ferrari aims for exclusivity.
In the centre, there’s a small touchscreen that controls various features, including the tint level of the glass panel. Just a tap adjusts the tint, creating a smooth transition to enjoy the skylight. Additional features include climate control and heated/cooling seats. Tapping the eject button reveals further controls. You’ll notice window switches to the side, cup holders, a wireless charger, and multiple charging ports in the armrest.
To access the front seat, simply pull the handle. The front area has an array of controls and screens, including the engine start/stop button integrated into the centre of the steering wheel. The drive mode selector and windshield wiper controls are positioned conveniently. The left side includes headlight controls and turn signals, with a shift light on the wheel demonstrating acceleration levels.
Notably, there is no traditional infotainment screen; instead, there are dedicated screens for climate control and passenger settings. This model includes cup holders, a wireless charger in the armrest, a cigarette lighter, window switches, child locks, and gear selectors. To drive, shift the right module into the drive; you can also switch to reverse or toggle between automatic and manual modes, with a power start feature for launch control. I appreciate the illuminated indicators when you adjust the settings. The rear design is impressive, featuring ample cargo space that can accommodate additional items, even after removing the cargo cover.
