The CBN will begin the process of physical inspection and auctioning of over 600 forfeited vehicles across nine states and the FCT on Tuesday. It will also hold the sale of 15 vessels and barges in Lagos, Delta, and Rivers states. Among the devices that will be auctioned off are 39 mobile phones, 11 laptops, and various other equipment.

In a notice published in The Punch on Friday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said that it would hold a physical and e-auction of the items that were subject to final forfeiture orders. These include those acquired through the agency’s Public Procurement Act, as well as those recovered through the proceeds of crime law. The editorial provided details about the various locations where the items would be auctioned and the websites where they would be available for viewing.

The exercise, which will be carried out in different states and the FCT, will end on December 20, 2022. There are over 400 vehicles that will be auctioned off in Lagos, followed by Oyo State with 80 vehicles, Rivers State has 45 vehicles and Port Harcourt with 35.

Some of the states where the vehicles would be auctioned off include Edo, Akwa Ibom, and Uyo. In addition, the CBN noted that it would also hold the sale of nine vehicles each in Ilorin and Kwara. Some of the exotic cars and expensive sport utility vehicles that would be offered for auction include saloon cars, trucks, and buses.

Some of the popular brands that are expected to be offered for auction include the Mercedes Benz G-Wagon GLK, the BMW X6, the Land Rover Range Rover, the Toyota Prado, the Lexus RX 350, and the Porsche. Other models that are commonly featured in the sale include the Honda CR-V, Nissan Quest, Mazda 6, and the Volkswagen Group’s Infinity. Other luxury vehicles that are also expected to be offered for auction include the Subaru Legacy, Toyota Landcruiser, and Chevrolet Equinox.

According to the advertisement, various electronic devices, such as Apple laptops, iPhones, and Samsung phones, would be offered for auction. The commission stated that the public would be allowed to participate in the process. It also noted that the items would be sold to the general public except for the staff members of the agency and certain groups and individuals who were involved in illegal activities.
