Richard Eyimofe Evans Mofe-Damijo popularly recognized as RMD is a Nigerian actor and former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State, he was born on the 6th of July 1961. In 2005 he won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He has also honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

RMD was born and brought up in the Aladja community of the Udu Kingdom, in Warri, Delta State Nigeria. He attended the Midwest College, Warri, and Anglican Grammar School and was a strong member of the Drama Club. He furthered his tertiary education at the University of Benin and studied Theatre Arts, RMD went back to the university in 1997, where he studied law at the University of Lagos and graduated in 2004. After he graduated from the university, RMD participated in a TV soap opera called Ripples. Prior to the soap opera, he had a job with Concord Newspapers and Metro Magazine as a reporter, the movie Out of Bounds was his first film for which he received a write and producer credit. RMD was married to a Nigerian journalist and publisher, May Ellen-Ezekiel, but she passed away in 1996, RMD then remarried a TV personality, Jumobi Adegbesan, she later left the TV job for the corporate world.
RMD has Five children, two from his current wife and two from his late wife. RMD is a proud father of five, three sons and two daughters, and a grandchild as well.
