2024 Kia Cars In Nigeria

Kias are known for being built with quality parts and strong craftsmanship. Owners who love their vehicles often say that it still feels like a new car years after making the purchase. While any new vehicle will be sure to last for five or more years, Kia owners often see 10+ without any problems occurring. Known for its exceptional blend of reliability, affordability, and innovation, Kia has catapulted itself into the league of vehicles that deliver far beyond.

It is much easier to keep a Kia SUV on the road with the help of an expert. An estimated average lifespan of 200,000 miles equates to about 13 to 17 years on the road. Vehicles tend to drive 10,000 to 15,000 miles per year. A well-maintained Kia SUV could even last 250,000 miles. They come in different models, namely:

  • Kia Soul
  • Kia Seltos
  • Kia Telluride
  • Kia Sportage
  • Kia Sorento
  • Kia EV6
  • Kia EV9

Review Of 2024 Kia Soul

2024 Kia Soul
2024 Kia Soul

The Kia Soul has a lot going for it. Its boxy shape gives it a seriously roomy passenger cabin and cargo area. It’s also fun to drive, with above-average handling abilities and an intuitive continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Minor grievances aside, this small SUV offers solid value for the money and is one of the best compacts out there.

The 2024 Kia Soul is a subcompact hatchback that is available in five trim levels: LX, S, EX, GT-Line and GT-Line Tech. All models are equipped with a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder that makes 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. This engine drives the front wheels (all-wheel drive is not available on the Soul) through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

2024 Kia Soul Performance and Fuel Economy

Maximum acceleration from the 2.0-litre engine is a little lacking, but the Soul feels perfectly spry around town. The steering is natural, and cornering abilities are better than expected. In most cases, the CVT automatic feels like a traditional automatic.

The EPA estimates the Soul gets 30-31 mpg in combined city/highway driving. That’s on par with most competitors.

Kia Soul Features

From an ergonomic standpoint, the simple interior design means there’s not much to mess up. Navigating through touchscreen menus is easy thanks to an intuitive interface and physical buttons for high-level functions. A height-adjustable front seat and a generous range of steering wheel adjustments help accommodate drivers of all sizes.

The tall roof and wide door openings make it easy to get into the front and rear of the deceptively large cabin. There’s lots of headroom and legroom in front and back — four adults will have no problem taking road trips. All windows are tall and narrow except the small upturned window in the rear three-quarter view.

Technology Features

The Soul comes with a lot of standard and available technology, and it all works well. Most trim levels feature a large, integrated 10.2-inch touchscreen that dominates the dashboard. We also like the available Harman Kardon stereo system that provides plenty of bass response and good sound quality across a lot of musical genres. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration is standard. Wireless charging is available.

The Soul’s driver assist systems are consistently accurate and didn’t trigger false alarms in our time with the vehicle. With the impressive optional adaptive cruise control and lane keeping system.

Safety Features

Forward collision mitigation (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)

Lane departure mitigation (warns you of a lane departure when a turn signal isn’t used and can automatically steer to maintain lane position)

Automatic high beams (automatically turns on your high beams on dark roads and turns them off when an oncoming car is detected)

Rear Occupant Alert (notifies you when a person is in the back seat so no one will be accidentally left behind)

Driver attention warning (issues an alert if sensors determine you are becoming fatigued)

2024 Kia Seltos

Price Range: $24,490 – $30,090, prices may differ depending on the rate of dollar in Nigeria.

Review of 2024 Kia Seltos

2024 Kia Seltos
2024 Kia Seltos

The Kia Seltos is stylish, roomy, and available with plenty of the latest technology and safety features. It’s rather quick, too, as long as you get the optional turbocharged engine. Comfort is lacking, however, and it’s not particularly fun to drive. But overall this little Kia SUV is worth a look.

Like many automakers, Kia has so many SUVs these days that it can be hard to keep them all straight. So here’s one way to think about the refreshed 2024 Kia Seltos. It’s the little sibling to Kia’s larger and more expensive Sportage crossover SUV. Yet it provides impressive utility and offers available all-wheel drive. For 2024, Kia has made some light changes three years into the Seltos’ run. These include updated styling, updated display screens, and more power for the available turbocharged engine. Kia has also introduced a more rugged X-Line trim.

The 2024 Kia Seltos is available in five trim levels: LX, S, EX, X-Line and SX.

2024 Kia Seltos Performance and Fuel Economy

Acceleration is sluggish from a stop, but after that, this little SUV is pretty punchy. It’s pretty easy to quickly get up to highway speeds. The transmission shifts smoothly and quickly. The Seltos is less impressive once the road bends, however. The responsive steering and taut suspension tuning should be beneficial, but drive with some enthusiasm and the Seltos just feels overly nose-heavy and ill-suited for enthusiastic driving.

The Kia Seltos has a few powertrain combinations. The EPA estimates that the combo will get 26 mpg combined. That’s below the class average, though a base Seltos with front-wheel drive gets a more respectable 31 mpg combined. In real-world driving, we believe you should be able to match the EPA’s numbers without much trouble

2024 Seltos Features

  • 2.0L 4-Cylinder Engine w/ 146hp & 132 lb.-ft. of torque
  • All-wheel drive – w/ Torque Vectoring & Center Lock
  • Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT)
  • 17-inch Alloy Wheels
  • Auto Headlight Control
  • Privacy Glass
  • Sound-Absorbing Windshield Glass
  • 4.2-inch Instrument Display
  • 8.0-inch Touchscreen Display
  • Rear-View Monitor
  • Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™
  • Remote Keyless Entry w/ Vehicle Immobilizer
  • Rear A/C Vents
  • 60/40 Split-Folding & Reclining Rear Seats
  • Dual-Level Cargo Floor

2024 Kia Telluride

Price Range:  $35,990 – $53,185

Review Of 2024 Kia Telluride

2024 Kia Telluride in Nigeria
2024 Kia Telluride in Nigeria

The Telluride is an impressive three-row SUV. It boasts a quiet and upscale cabin, impressive tech, extensive standard features, adult-friendly third-row seating, and a satisfying driving experience. It has a few minor weaknesses, but overall this Kia is a great pick for a three-row crossover SUV.

Since its debut for the 2020 model year, the Kia Telluride has become a popular pick for many people shopping for a three-row midsize SUV. It provides lots of comfort and spaciousness and has even earned a Top Rated award every year since. That’s no small feat as most vehicles eventually get overtaken by newer rivals. But every time a new competitor has come up to challenge the Telluride, it’s fallen short.

The 2024 Kia Telluride is available in five trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX and SX Prestige. There are also X-Line versions of the EX, SX and SX Prestige, along with X-Pro versions of the SX and SX Prestige. Each trim comes standard with a 3.8-litre V6 (291 horsepower, 262 lb-ft of torque) paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available on all trims except for the SX Prestige, which comes with standard AWD.

2024 Kia Telluride Performance and Fuel Economy

The Telluride is a satisfying SUV to drive. Its V6 engine is responsive, though outright acceleration is ultimately average for a three-row SUV. Telluride test vehicle sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds, which is similar to the acceleration of the Honda Pilot and Hyundai Palisade. The brakes are strong and can bring the Telluride to a halt in a hurry. It recorded consistent stops from 60 mph in 123 feet, which is a bit shorter than average for the class. The brakes are also easy to control for consistent and smooth stops on the street.

The steering is light at parking lot speeds and weighs up naturally in turns. The Telluride is stable when going around turns and doesn’t exhibit excessive body roll. We also like that the engine’s fuel-saving stop-start feature works smoothly and quietly. Transmission upshifts can be a little rough under hard acceleration, and the transmission can hunt around on certain grades, but these are pretty small concerns overall.

The all-wheel-drive Telluride’s EPA-estimated fuel economy is slightly below average at 21 mpg combined (19 city/24 highway). On the plus side, Telluride achieved about 23 mpg on a 115-mile mixed-driving evaluation route, indicating that the EPA’s numbers are realistic. You can run the V6 on regular gas, unlike some rival SUVs that require premium gas to return their rated power and fuel economy numbers.

2024 Kia Telluride Features

All Tellurides come with numerous collision avoidance and mitigation systems as well as adaptive cruise control that operates down to a stop. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration also comes standard, and numerous USB ports are spread across all three rows, although only one can transmit data. Wireless smartphone connectivity remains conspicuously absent. A standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is mounted in a housing that puts it right next to the gauge cluster. It gives all trim levels a large display that’s easily reached from the driver’s seat.

SX models and above also get a matching 12.3-inch instrument cluster display. The larger instrument cluster display makes the blind-spot view system more useful. The previous display only measured 7 inches and was small and pixelated, but the new one looks much clearer and works well in tandem with the blind-spot warning system to give the driver helpful information. Kia’s Highway Driving Assist system is great. It accelerates and slows down smoothly while keeping the Telluride centred in its lane without ping-ponging from side to side.

2024 Kia Sportage

Price Range:  $27,090 – $37,890

Review Of 2024 Kia Sportage

2024 Kia Sportage in Nigeria
2024 Kia Sportage in Nigeria

The Kia Sportage stands out with its comfortable ride quality, spacious seating and massive rear cargo area. It also comes with some appealing technology features and advanced driver aids. The Sportage’s biggest shortcomings are its slow acceleration and underwhelming fuel economy.

When Kia redesigned the Sportage in 2023, it made sure the small crossover SUV had plenty of room for people and cargo, a stylishly distinctive design, the latest technology, and a version that could travel a little farther off-road than a visit to a roadside fruit stand. It even introduced hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants offering plenty of power and efficiency.

The 2024 Kia Sportage is a compact crossover SUV. It comes in LX, EX, X-Line, SX, SX Prestige, X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige trim levels, each equipped with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine (187 horsepower, 178 lb-ft of torque) and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

2024 Kia Sportage Fuel Economy

Every 2024 Kia Sportage trim level receives a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that pushes out 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The front-drive Sportage is rated for up to 42 mpg city and 44 mpg highway.

2024 Kia Sportage Features

Kia has levelled up the look and design of the interior without sacrificing functionality. Maybe the new touchscreen iconography, which resembles neon signs, won’t be to everyone’s taste but it at least looks modern, and Kia has retained many useful physical buttons. All-wheel-drive Sportages have more ground clearance, 8.3 inches, than front-wheel-drive models (7.1 inches), which makes step-in height marginally higher as well. But it’s still a relatively easy vehicle to slide in and out of, especially with its nice squared-off door openings.

Visibility is great thanks to big windows and body dimensions that are easy to gauge from the driver’s seat. And for those who want even better visibility, the Prestige trims include an excellent surround-view camera system. Passenger space is generous throughout the cabin as well, with the exception of front headroom. Although people 6 feet tall or shorter should have no issues, we wonder if the exceptionally tall will feel too close to the roof in the front seat.

Technology Features

Tech features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a plethora of USB-A and -C ports in both rows. Our test vehicle was equipped with a wireless charging pad as well as 12.3-inch displays for both the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Onboard navigation, which our test Sportage had, is straightforward to operate, though it’s a bummer that it doesn’t have live traffic information. Also, the touchscreen inputs lockout when you’re on the move.

Safety Features

It includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, a surround-view monitor and parking assist. We like how it all works in real-world use. The adaptive cruise holds good gaps without constantly tapping the brakes, and we didn’t have any false alerts with any of the collision systems. Smart Park will pull the Sportage out or into a parking spot using just the key fob. It’s a neat party trick.

2024 Kia Sorento

Price Range: $31,990 – $47,390

Review Of 2024 Kia Sorento

With its mix of quality, practicality and available performance, the Sorento is an enticing option if you’re looking for a small SUV with above-average versatility. The  2024 Kia Sorento is the brand’s second-largest SUV, sitting just beneath the Telluride. Like the Telluride, the Sorento offers three rows of seating but in a slightly smaller and less expensive package. Essentially, the Sorento could be ideal for you if want an SUV that’s: a) roomier than a typical small SUV; b) has three rows for occasional use, like when you have to shuttle home a few extra of your kid’s friends from soccer practice; and c) you don’t want to fully commit to a bigger SUV like the Telluride.

The 2024 Kia Sorento Is a small three-row SUV available in five main trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX and SX Prestige. X-Line and X-Pro versions of certain trim levels are also available.

2024 Kia Sorento Fuel Economy

The EPA estimates the all-wheel-drive Sorento with the turbocharged engine, gets 23 mpg combined. As an added bonus, the turbocharged Sorento doesn’t need premium gasoline.

2024 Kia Sorento Features

  • 2.5L 4-Cylinder Engine w/ 191hp & 182 lb-ft. of torque
  • 8-Speed Auto Transmission
  • Drive Mode Select (Snow Mode w/AWD)
  • 7-Passenger Seating
  • LED Headlights
  • 17-inch Alloy Wheels
  • Available Torque-vectoring All-Wheel Drive (AWD) w/ Center-Locking Differential

2024 Kia EV6

Price Range: The price of the 2024 Kia EV6 starts at $43,975 and goes up to $62,975 depending on the trim and options.

Review Of 2024 Kia EV6

What the Kia EV6 does best is take the time spent between driving a fully-electric vehicle between charges and makes it worthwhile. Without tangling its owners into the scientific experiment of owning an EV, the EV6 provides a pleasant ride, good performance, and a spacious cabin. Its distractingly cool-dude styling is meaningful and makes this Kia SUV look like something special rather than like everything else.

2024 Kia EV6 Range, Charging, and Battery Life

The entry-level Light rear-wheel drive model comes with a 58.0-kWh battery pack while all other EV6s are equipped with a 77.4-kWh unit. While rear-drive models with the larger pack are EPA-rated at up to 310 miles, the Light with the smaller pack gets a shorter 232-mile range. Opt for the high-performance GT and the range drops to a measly 206 miles per charge.

2024 Kia EV6 Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGe

Every single-motor EV6 has a combined EPA rating of up to 117 MPGe; the dual-motor variant is rated at 109 MPGe with the standard 19-inch wheels and 96 MPGe when rolling on the optional 2os. Go for the high-performance GT model, and the combined estimate drops to 79 MPGe.

2024 Kia EV6 Features

The EV6 mixes high-tech content such as a digitized dashboard with practical elements such as a floating centre console with copious storage solutions and a large bin underneath it. Other touches that stand out are the two-tone, two-spoke steering wheel, the prominent start button on the center console, and the tastefully placed gold accents throughout the cockpit. The EV6 has a flat floor and a wheelbase as long as the three-row, mid-size Kia Telluride, so passenger space is generous.

Technology Features

The infotainment system runs through a 12.0-inch touchscreen that’s an extension of the EV6’s 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster. However, the design and performance of the menu structure and navigation are unimpressive. Along with the ability to accept over-the-air updates and respond to myriad voice commands, the system includes popular features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Additionally, the stereo can be upgraded to a Meridian unit with 14 speakers.

Safety Features

Kia packs the EV6 with a variety of standard driver-assistance technology that includes automated emergency braking and automatic high beams, Standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, Standard adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, and Available remote parking assist.

2024 Kia EV9

Price Range: The price of the 2024 Kia EV9 starts at $56,395 and goes up to $75,395 depending on the trim and options.

Review Of 2024 Kia EV9

2024 Kia EV9
2024 Kia EV9

The Kia EV9 delivers a luxuriously quiet drive and high-quality features that elevate every commute or jaunt alike. It’s an appealing choice for families ready to transition into the electric realm, without compromising on much of anything. The 2024 Kia EV9 is a big deal. It’s literally big, a three-row electric crossover SUV that’s even a bit larger than the Telluride, Kia’s reigning size champ. But the EV9 Is also figuratively big, a spacious, useful family EV that costs tens of thousands of dollars less than three-row electrics from Mercedes, Rivian and Tesla. Granted, the base trim model offers only modest range and power, but consistent with Kia’s strategy, it comes with a truckload of standard features.

The 2024 Kia EV9 is an all-electric three-row midsize SUV that’s available in Light, Light Long Range, Wind, Land and GT-Line trim levels. Kia offers different drive motor configurations, power ratings and range estimates depending on trim.

2024 Kia EV9 Range, Charging, and Battery Life

The entry-level Light model comes with a 76.1-kWh battery pack which offers an EPA-estimated 230 miles of driving range. The Light Long Range model and the e-AWD versions have a larger 99.8-kWh pack. The Light Long Range model is rated by the EPA for up to 304 miles of driving per charge, while the Wind e-AWD and Land e-AWD models are rated for 280 miles. Going with the top-spec GT-line trim drops the estimated range to 270 miles per charge.

2024 Kia EV9 Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGe

The EPA estimates that the EV9 is capable of 80 to 89 MPGe depending on which drivetrain it uses. The EV9 Light is the most efficient, at 89 MPGe with the 99.8-kWh battery pack and rear-wheel drive. It should be no surprise to anyone, that the performance-minded GT-Line with all-wheel drive gets the lowest MPGe rating of 80.

2024 Kia EV9 Features

  • 304 miles of range
  • Digital cockpit with nearly 30 inches of combined displays
  • Head-Up Display
