Kia has fully revealed the major 7-passenger EV9 SUV and it looks super similar to the concept and has a swivelling second row! The design truly is epic: a boxy, cyberpunk version of the Telluride some may say; serving as the brand’s flagship SUV.

It shares the highly modular e-GMP architecture with all dedicated EV Hyundai-Kia-Genesis Products. This means an 800v battery architecture, rear or dual motors and more. Unfortunately, there are no powertrain specs officially out just yet.
Its sizeable 126.0-inch wheelbase and totally flat floor for all that room, while Kia even pushed the wheels outward as much as possible in an effort to extend the platform. Inside also consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a 5-inch display that promises to “improve the digital experience.”
It will be offered in 6 and 7-passenger configurations and the second row can swivel 180°!! Epic? I think so. Production likely will begin this fall.⠀⠀⠀⠀

A Spacious Interior with Details That Make it Feel Even More So
In addition to actual spaciousness, Jochen Paesen, the VP of interior design, describes the deliberate choices to make the EV9’s interior feel even airier than it is. For example, they chose not to do a dash design that wraps around the doors, as that can lead to an impression of feeling closed in.
For the same reason, the headrests on the front seats are mesh so rear passengers can see past them. The dash is horizontal and minimalist, and what looks like one giant screen protruding from it is two 12.3-inch screens—one for the gauge cluster and a second for infotainment—with a dedicated HVAC readout between them.
Physical knobs and buttons are reduced compared to Kia’s current lineup, with just a few key HVAC controls and a volume knob remaining, along with touch-sensitive controls embedded in the dash to jump to different menus. This is an entirely new generation of infotainment, but Kia isn’t yet talking details or features of this new system just yet.
What would the 2024 Kia EV9 price look like?
Based on the results of a survey Kia did, we think the EV9 will have either a single rear motor at the back or one at each axle for all-wheel drive and will cost between $50,000 and $70,000.
The EV9 concept said it could go 300 miles, and this early prototype’s display showed that it had 91 per cent battery and 436 km (271 miles) to go until it was empty. The idea also promises to charge even faster than the EV6, which is already one of the fastest cars we’ve tested.
