- The 2024 Hyundai Elantra comes almost similar to the 2023 model, except that Hyundai has given it some minor facelifts.
- Just like the 2023 model, it still has a very impressive fuel economy.
- The 2024 Hyundai Elantra comes in six trims which include: SE, SEL, Hybrid Blue, Limited, N-Line, and Hybrid Limited.
When Hyundai revealed the design of the facelift 2024 Elantra only minor bits were modified. The most noticeable new feature is a toned-down front facia with lead angular lights, a more narrow grill design, and a reshaped bumper. This is also not even the N-Line or N models which also are getting updated.

Expect powertrains to carry over with a range of 4-cylinder hybrid and turbo engines. The side profile remains the same while we do gain new wheel options. The rear also is fairly similar with LED lights though the bumper has been restyled. Even inside is largely the same with dual 10.25-inch screens. The main new feature is the Sage Green interior option which likely may be a Korean market exclusive. Up next will also be a Sonata facelift.
Overview of the 2024 Hyundai Elantra
For 2024, Hyundai has given the Elantra a subtle but significant styling refresh. The new front end features a split grille for an even sleeker appearance, while the rear gets a more refined taillight design and a few more styling tweaks. Inside, there are a few new features that include additional USB charge ports, a redesigned wireless charging pad, and new side-impact airbags for rear passengers.
The 2024 Elantra’s lineup is largely the same and includes an available hybrid powertrain and the high-performance Elantra N. Hyundai says it has revised the N’s steering and suspension for improved precision and control. Some of the competitors of the 2024 Hyundai Elantra include the Kia Forte, along with the Honda Civic and Mazda 3.

Engine and Performance of the 2024 Hyundai Elantra
The standard nonhybrid Elantra powertrain is a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that pushes out a not-very-exciting 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque under the hood of SE and SEL models. Opting for the sportier N Line model drops displacement to 1.6 litres and adds a turbocharger, resulting in a much livelier 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.
The hybrid models also utilize a 1.6-liter four-pot but it’s paired with an electric motor rather than a turbo, which results in slightly less horsepower than the base engine at 139 but more torque at 195 pound-feet–equal to that of the N Line. The SE and SEL’s base 2.0-liter engine is mated to a CVT (continuously variable transmission) while the N Line, Blue Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid models get a DCT (dual-clutch transmission).
The base 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine is lacking when it comes to speed. The power the Elantra does have is sent through a continuously variable automatic transmission that Hyundai tunes for optimal fuel economy, so it too is not very impressive for spirited driving. But in typical situations, the transmission delivers a smooth experience, and there’s only a little of the notorious droning noise that CVTs are known for.
Fuel Economy in the 2024 Hyundai Elantra
The EPA estimates the Elantra with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder will earn up to 33 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway. Models with the turbocharged 1.6-litre four have been estimated as high as 28 mpg city and 36 on the highway. The hybrid Elantra is rated at 53 mpg city and 56 on the highway. Whichever trim of the Elantra you choose, you’re looking at excellent fuel economy.
The Interior Features and Quality of the 2024 Hyundai Elantra
The interior of the 2024 Elantra promises to be luxurious and minimalist. Two screens dominate the dashboard and are connected oddly to appear like one large screen. A horizontal vent runs the full width of the dashboard, while a grab bar protrudes out of the centre console and splits the front seats. We expect the 2024 Elantra to retain the same interior design as the Elantra that’s currently on sale.
The Elantra comes with an impressive amount of technology for a compact vehicle. The 2024 Elantra is expected to come with an eight-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, two USB ports, four audio speakers, and an HD Radio.
Available features include a 10.2-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, eight audio speakers, a wireless charging pad, and navigation. The larger infotainment system is only offered with wired smartphone compatibility.
The Elantra cabin is well-thought-out, with plenty of space and good outward visibility in the front row. We’re also pleased to see the back seat gained 2 inches of legroom over the previous generation, allowing for quite generous accommodations for taller passengers.
Safety Features in the 2024 Hyundai Elantra
For the 2024 Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai has also added rear side-impact airbags and a rear-seat seatbelt reminder as standard across the Elantra range. Lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert all of which are standard features now alert the driver with haptic pulses in the steering wheel. The Elantra is available with adaptive cruise control, cyclist detection, rear collision warning, Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist system, and rear parking sensors.
Prices of the 2024 Hyundai Elantra in Nigeria
The estimated price of the base trim of the 2024 Hyundai Elantra in Nigeria is expected at N32 million and above. This price is due to the increased dollar rate in the country that has impacted the price of commodities, including cars.
