@kay_blingz commented: “The trailer driver actually held his brakes for him. The car driver was just not patient.”
@rollandjohn10 said: “How do you blame the trailer driver?”
@_tunes_gram commented: “It’s not the trailers fault at all.”
@iatalkspace commented: “C’mon, the truck slowed down, but the smaller car didn’t. The car was most responsible for the accident because that’s a curve and it clearly shouldn’t have attempted to overtake mutiple vehicles without seeing what’s coming on the other side. Big risk, unnecessary risk.”
@nwandosignatureevents commented: “The trailer driver is on his lane. The smaller car driver however is obviously overtaking on a bend, and even he saw the trailer he didn’t reduce his speed, apparently he thought his car is elastic that can squeeze in between these 2 vehicles. As road users we need to be very calculative because one mistake might not just end the users but others too.”
Why you should not Overtake At A Bend
Overtaking at a bend is not safe and can be extremely dangerous for several reasons:
- Limited visibility: When you’re approaching a bend, you may not have a clear view of the road ahead. If you attempt to overtake at this point, you may not be able to see if there are any oncoming vehicles, pedestrians or obstacles that could cause a collision.
- Reduced manoeuvrability: When you’re driving around a bend, your car’s manoeuvrability is reduced, and your ability to respond to unexpected situations is compromised. This means that if you need to take evasive action to avoid an accident while overtaking, you may not be able to do so quickly or effectively.
- Increased risk of head-on collisions: Overtaking at a bend increases the risk of a head-on collision, as you may not be able to see oncoming traffic or may misjudge the distance and speed of the approaching vehicle.
- Breaking traffic rules: In most countries, overtaking at a bend is illegal and can result in penalties such as fines, license suspension, or even imprisonment.
