Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, an elder statesman, former Nigerian military Head State, and two-time President of Nigeria post-military rule, is no stranger in the Nigerian political atmosphere.
He’s fondly called many nicknames like Baba Iyabo, Baba, and old soldier, while others referred to him as Ebora Owu, among many other names.
President Olusegun Obasanjo was a former Nigerian army general, head of state, statesman, diplomat, and also a farmer. He emerged as the first military ruler in Africa to hand over power to a civilian government after serving as Nigeria’s military ruler between 1976–79 (after Murtala Muhammed’s assassination), and later as a civilian president between 1999–2007.
One of the interesting facts about the former president is that he’s the only Nigerian president who is also an art collector. At his Museum in Ogun State, his hometown, the past president put on a display of cars he rode during his time in the Nigerian military and while he served as the former democratic president of Nigeria.
