If you are interested in buying cars in 2023, then you should know about the popular and best cars from 2022 that everyone couldn’t stop talking about. Of course, although a year old now, these cars are still gold mines because they still have a lot to offer in 2023.
Many cars from different automakers made it to the top 10 list by Car and Driver, but Toyota had 3 of its models on a top 10 list, leaving others cars struggling with 7 spots. If that’s not a testament to the quality of these cars, then I don’t know. So, if you’re in the market for a 2022 model to buy in 2023, consider these 3 Toyota models that made a list. They are:
- The Toyota RAV4
- The Toyota Camry
- The Toyota Tacoma
In the top 10 best-seller lists, the Toyota RAV4 came 4th, while the Toyota Camry came 5th. It’s awe-inspiring that the Camry out-sold the Corolla from Car and Driver’s list. It’s also impressive that the Camry is the only sedan on that list.

Following is the Toyota small pickup truck, the Toyota Tacoma, that came 9th on the list. In 2022, Tacoma sold 237,323 units worldwide. The Camry sold 295,201 units, and the RAV4, the highest Toyota seller on the list, sold 399,941 units.
Here’s a table of the 10 best-sellers and where the Toyota cars fall in.
2022 | Sold Units |
Ford F-Series | 653,957 |
Chevrollete Silverado | 513,354 |
Ram Pickup | 468,344 |
Toyota RAV4 | 399,941 |
Toyota Camry | 295,201 |
Tesla Model Y | 253,793 |
GMC Sierra | 241,522 |
Honda CR-V | 238,155 |
Toyota Tacoma | 237,323 |
Jeep Grand Cherokee | 223,345 |
Outside the top 10 list, the Toyota Highlander and the Toyota Corolla also made it to #11 and #12 on the best-seller list. The popular Highlander midsize SUV sold 222,805 units, and the Toyota Corolla sold 222,216 units.
Although having 3 models in the top 10 is impressive, Toyota made waves in 2022 with 5 models in the top 12 best-sellers. The list prepared by Car and Driver was a top 25 best-sellers, and Toyota hit 5 strategic spots in that list which is impeccable.
What’s even more surprising is seeing the Toyota models’ closest competitors far down the list. The Honda Accord made the 20th spot with 154,612 units sold, far below its competitor, the Camry.
Conclusion
What this says about Toyota cars is that consumers love them, and it’s due to the many excellent features and, of course, the price of these cars. So, if this isn’t enough reason to go after one of these Toyota cars in 2023, what is?
