The brand is relatively new, and many have not heard the name for the first time, but this company has existed since 2011.
According to the CEO of Pravaig, Siddharta Bagri, the company has invested $18 million in developing this SUV.
The start-up also announced it would invest a further $30 million over the next five months before the car launches in the market.
The images released so far are a pre-production prototype of the Defy–the company’s first model–which is scheduled to enter production in the second quarter of 2023.
The price of the car has also been set as $48,440.
The Performance Of The Pravaig Defy
There are so many things to be expected from the brand’s low-cost electric SUV. To start with, it sits on an in-house developed EV-dedicated architecture, which features dual electric motors.
Those electric motors produce a combined 402 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. The car comes with an all-wheel drive system that Pravaig claims will help the Defy to accelerate from 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 210km/h (130 mph).
The EV has a 90.9-kWh battery that’s good for a driving range of more than 500km (311 miles). It can charge from 0-80% in 30 minutes using an ultra-fast charger.
The Design Of The Pravaig Defy
The Defy is 4.96m in length, which gives it a quite boxy appearance. It also has a flat glass surface and angular roofline.
The profile, glasshouse, and rear all remind you of the Range Rover Velar.
On the other hand, the interior appears to be more premium than the exterior. It is made with vegan leather and sustainable fabrics that have been used for the upholstery.
The dashboard display has a 15.6-inch touchscreen mated to a premium audio system from the French brand, Devialet.
With a price tag of $48,000, this Pravaig Defy will be competing favourably with other cars in its category.
