The C63 S is available both in sedan and wagon. And it is also a track-friendly beast.
The car has a hybrid engine that allows you to drive in all-electric mode in complete silence and comfort.
To turn it fully electric, you must push a button on the AMG Performance steering wheel and opt for “Sport-Plus” or “Drift.”
With Sport-Plus, the steering of the vehicle is more precise, and the suspension stiffer.
In addition, the car’s “brain” sharpens the throttle response, and the exhaust system’s valves open to deliver a strong sound.
About The AMG C63 S Powertrain
The new powertrain doesn’t have a V8 engine. AMG decided to replace it with a highly technical 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine inspired by AMG’s F1 program.
The car is turbocharged and equipped with an electric motor on the rear axle, making the AMG C63 S a four-wheel-drive performance car.
The gas engine produces 476 horsepower, while the electric unit uses an additional 204 horsepower.
With a combined power, it delivers 680 horsepower and 752 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful 4-cylinder powertrain in the world.
The car’s top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.
About The E-Performance Of The AMG C63 S
E-Performance is the Mercedes AMG sub-division specializing in high-performance vehicles using hybrid power.
The GT 63 S 4-door was the first car created under the new brand, delivering 639 horsepower from a 4.0-litre V8.
As the brand continues to transition towards electric and hybrid cars, there are even more expectations for more E-Performance versions of the Mercedes flagship cars.
