There’s a new kid coming to town soon. The name of the car is Pininfarina Battista, a hypercar that is currently being billed as the “world’s first pure-electric hyper GT.”
This Pininfarina Battista is a twin car to the Rimac Nevera, a production of Rimac Automobil. Only 150 samples of this Battista hypercar will be made by the Pininfarina GmbH automobile company.
Each of these 150 samples will be built by hand in a special factory in Cambiano, Italy.
From start to finish of production, each car will take 10-18 weeks to complete, with up to 1340 hours of work going into the production process.
The carbon fiber chassis and electric driveline that will be included in the Pininfarina Battista will be completely supplied directly by the Rimac Automobil.
The company has stated that the painting of the car will take up to four weeks of the entire process.
A unique multi-layer metallic finish is applied to all cars, with each panel being analyzed to ensure there’s a perfect color match.
Most of the vehicle, around 80% of it will be assembled over the course of two days post-production.
But, a precise wheel and steering rack alignment adds another day to the assembling process.
Finally, after assembling, it’ll go through a thorough examination before being delivered to the lucky customer.
This includes an on-raod test on a special route.
Each of the cars also looked at in a special light tunnel to detect any cosmetic imperfections.
All the samples of the Pininfarina Battista are bespoke.
The company claims 13.9 quintillion exterior combinations and 128 million interior combinations are available.
How Much Will This Pininfarina Battista?
Each sample of this electric hypercar is priced from the sum of $1.99 million.
However, some of the cars will end up costing even more than that once they’ve been specified.
The car is the most powerful Italian car ever made, the Battista makes a whooping 1900PS (1874hp; 1397kW).
It can get from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in under two seconds.
