How Is This Even Possible?
The 410 Sport Spider was designed by Sergio Scaglietti, an iconic Italian coachbuilder who used to work closely with Ferrari.
Associated with the Ferrari is a rich history and a crazy racing pedigree.
Some of the people who have had the pleasure of driving this car are Carroll Shelby and Juan Manuel Fangio. According to a conversation Carroll Shelby had with Enzo Ferrari, Enzo described the 410 Sport Spider as “the best Ferrari [we] ever built.”
F1 legend Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1956 1000 km of Buenos Aires and then, between 1956 and 1958, the car was driven by Phil Hill, Bruce Kessler and Carroll Shelby, just to name a few.
With some of these prominent drivers who have driven the car, the 410 quickly became a serial winner.
When Enzo Ferrari founded the brand in the late 1940s, he was famously not interested in selling road cars, he just wanted to win races.
Over the years, the 410 has entered 40 races, 11 victories and 19 podium finishes. The 410 was designed to do exactly that, powered by a “big block” 4.9-liter V12.

When Is The Auction Set To Take Place?
This gorgeous and rare-to-find 1955 Ferrari 410 Sport Spider by Scagletti is set to break a few records when it hits the auction block at RM Sotheby’s in Monterey, California next month.
Although the car has changed hands a few times, still each owner has looked after it because it is still in perfect condition, as the pictures show.
It was first restored in 1980 and then again in 2012, when the twin-plug V12 was rebuilt.
