The New 2021 Lexus IS honestly looks quite good in F-Sport guise but of course, that isn’t enough for some. TRD, one of Toyota’s own performance divisions, has some new parts out like a splitter, side skirts, a new sports exhaust, diffuser, and 20in forged wheels. The list gets more extensive too with a chassis member brace, performance dampers, and an aero mirror cover. ⠀
The base IS300 (N18 million – $39,000 RWD) is the same as the 2.0L Turbo 4 makes 241HP and 258 lb-ft of torque in the RWD form. The IS300 AWD (N18 million – $41,0000) gets a 3.5L V6 making 260HP and 236 lb-ft of torque meanwhile the IS 350 (N19,3 million – $42,0000 RWD/ N21 million – $44,0000 AWD) gets the same engine with 311HP and 280 lb-ft of torque…The IS 500 is possibly coming later on with the final application of the Lexus 5.0L n/a V8 making around 470HP. The RWD models get an 8 speed auto while the AWD gets an old 6 speed Auto.
The Interior grew on me quickly thanks to the new images. Lexus has redone the center console to add the track pack interface with an 8in touch screen or 10.3in touch screen and shifted buttons around. There also is a new infotainment system with Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and Alexa standard along with a redesigned upper dash, a new steering wheel, and circular air vents. The dynamic handling package on the F-Sport gets a rear LSD, BBS wheels, and adaptive suspension.
