After 11 years of run, Lamborghini finally sends off the very last of the Aventador.

The last Lamborghini Aventador will go down in the history books as the last naturally aspirated V12 car made by the company.

The car is being sent to the customer in Switzerland; the car wears a unique light blue “Ad Personam” colour from Lamborghini’s bespoke customisation division.

The Lamborghini Aventador was first unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show; the Aventador has since then been through eight iterations.

The car has been offered in a coupe and convertible forms, and the basic style of the car has always remained the same.

The Aventador has a 6.5-litre V12 that drives all four wheels through a seven-speed paddle-shift transmission.

When it was first launched, it was described as the “jump of two generations in terms of design and technology” by the CEO of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann.

The vehicle has since become Lamborghini’s most produced V12 flagship.

11,465 units have been sold to customers, making it the number one vehicle to top the sales of all previous Lamborghini’s V12.

In the fifth production year, 5,000 units in total were sold. That’s a lot of cars compared to the Lamborghini Murciélago, as there were just only 5,000 made during its entire production run.

The 10,000th unit of the Aventador was sold in September 2020. The CEO of Lamborghini notes that the Aventador will always have a timeless appeal.

He said, “The V12 engine has been part of Lamborghini’s heritage since the company’s earliest days; the beating heart of models from Miura to Diablo, Countach to Murciélago.

“The Aventador captured Lamborghini’s competencies in design and engineering when it debuted in 2011, with Lamborghini values that are always at the centre of the company and product impetus: pure, futuristic design; benchmarking performance; and addressing technical challenges with innovation to produce the most emotive, class-leading super sports car.

“These principles are the very essence of the Lamborghini Aventador and assure its timeless appeal.”
