Back in 2017, Tesla unveiled its all-electric Semi truck. Initially, it was supposed to be released in 2019. However, due to various issues, the vehicle program was delayed for several years.
In August, Elon Musk surprised the world by announcing that the Semi would be making its debut later this year. He confirmed that the production of the vehicle had started.
In a tweet, Musk said that the Semi truck, which is expected to cost around N126,0000,00 ($180,000), has a range of 500 miles. It was not clear how many electric vehicles the company plans to make. The Senate approved a tax break program that would allow the truck to qualify for up to $40,000 in incentives.

PepsiCo placed an order for 100 electric semi-trucks from Tesla. The company, which makes products such as Doritos and Mountain Dew, said it wanted to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and fuel costs. During an interview with CNBC, Ramon Laguarta, the company’s CEO, said that transportation accounts for 10% of its emissions.
The company had previously said that it would use the trucks to transport its products between its various distribution centres and manufacturing facilities.
