Interestingly, the rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo does not just end on the football pitch. It extends even to their car collections.

Both superstars have some of the most expensive luxury vehicles, and their vehicles are regarded as one-of-a-kind luxury pieces. However, there’s one particular vehicle they both had their eyes on but only one of them was able to afford it, and it’s none other than Messi who purchased the car.

When both footballers heard of the auction, they both wanted to own the vehicle that only has four units in the whole world. However, Messi outbid Ronaldo in the auction, taking it home for $36 million, making the vehicle the most expensive racing car ever sold in an auction.

The vehicle that is known as the “prancing horse of 1957” uses a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine.
