As the nation struggles with hunger, hardship, and inflation, reports have surfaced alleging that the governor of the Central Bank, CBN, Yemi Cardoso, along with his four deputies, have been spending lavishly.
They reportedly purchased six armoured Lexus LX 600 2023 models for over N10 billion. Mr. Cardoso is said to have acquired two of these vehicles for use in Lagos and Abuja, while each deputy governor received one.
Additionally, it is claimed that the CBN management and board members were provided with around 20 Toyota Camry cars, each costing N85 million. The CBN governor and his deputies are also said to have increased their annual housing allowances to approximately 1 billion naira and upgraded their international travel privileges from business class to first class.
