Nigeria @ 62: Top three Cars used by Nigerian president during independence day

Nigeria is now 62 years old as an independent nation. Ever since its independence from British colonial rule on October 1, 1960, it has been a chequered history for the country. From 1960 to date, Nigeria has had 16 heads of government, eight of whom were military Heads of State and two of whom were later democratic elected Presidents.

Every October 1st we have the current president on eagle square Abuja observing an independent day celebration with a host of other top executives of all the arms of government.

Let’s look at the top three presidents and cars they have used during the celebration at square Abuja.

Umaru Musa Yar’adua

Umaru Musa Yar’Adua GCFR was the former President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010. He was declared the winner of the Nigerian presidential election held on 21 April 2007 and was sworn in on 29 May 2007.

Goodluck Jonathan

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is a well-known Nigerian politician who served as the President of Nigeria between 2010-2015, before being succeeded by General Muhammadu Buhari. He left an indelible mark on his personality by being the first Nigerian president to concede defeat in the 2015 gubernatorial elections in Nigeria. Good luck Ebele Jonathan has a rich history in the world of Nigerian politics prior to his becoming president of Nigeria. Being a politician and a scholar, Goodluck Jonathan is renowned and amassed wealth and fortune to his name.

Muhammadu Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari served as the president of Nigeria since 2015. He is a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as the country’s military head of state from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985, after taking power in a military coup d’état.
