  1. You will need to login onto the Federal Road Safety plate number registration platform via nvisng.org. After a successful login, you download the forms shown on the site: auto vehicle license form, form B, tax form, allocation of plate number form and road safety commission form.

The forms can also be gotten physically at the Federal Road Safety Corps office closest to you.

  • Ensure that the details on the forms are accurate and free from any error.
  • You can proceed to the State board of internal revenue/mobile license authority to submit the already filled-out documents.

Some documents to be submitted along with the printed-out documents from the website are:

  • A hand-written application letter requesting a customized plate number, indicating the preferred number or name to be written on the plate.
  • An attestation letter and a purchase receipt, if the car is brand new.
  • Relevant shipping documents (if the car was imported).
  • A national (Nigerian) means of personal identification like a national identity card, driver’s license, permanent voter’s card, or international passport. Any of the listed documents will do, as far as it contains your means of identification.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Tax identification number.
  • Approved insurance papers.
  • A document showing the proof of ownership of the vehicle.
  • A car insurance policy number.
  • If the presented documents are approved, an officer is to stamp the documents.
  • Make payments and present the receipt to the motor license authority.
