The Toyota Camry is an excellent mid-size car for everyone. Its strong engine choices and deft handling make it more fun to drive than many rivals. A comfortable ride and good fuel economy make the Camry easy to live with too. The cabin is replete with quality materials, and there’s plenty of passenger room. This Toyota sedan also has a long list of standard features, including an intuitive infotainment system.
2019 Toyota Camry Configurations
The five-seat Toyota Camry is a best-selling mid-size sedan with a standard 203-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an available 301-hp, 3.5-liter V-6. Both engines work with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid model that gets up to 52 mpg combined is also available. Competitors include the Honda Accord, Mazda6, and Nissan Altima.
The Camry is lower, wider and longer than its predecessor, and it uses a new platform. The SE and XSE trim levels have sportier design cues, including available 19-inch black wheels, a trunk lid spoiler, and different rocker panels and front and rear bumpers. Toyota Safety Sense-P, which is a suite of advanced driver assistance systems that includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist, and automatic emergency braking, comes standard. Across the board, upgrades should make the Camry a strong competitor in the shrinking sedan class.
2019 Toyota Camry new features
Fully redesigned last year, the 2019 Camry adds Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Though Toyota has announced Android Auto for some 2020 models, it has not been announced for the Camry.
2019 Toyota Camry Performance
Camry offers a compelling choice of gasoline engines, a responsive 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-cylinder and a muscular 3.5-liter V6, each delivering a sophisticated blend of performance and efficiency. Both engines utilize the D-4S direct-injection system, which selects the optimal injection method based on driving conditions to pack a powerful punch while still being fuel-efficient. It proves the rational choice can also be an exciting one.
