Nigeria Customs Boss Reveals Support on Made-in-Nigeria Vehicles

Adewale Adeniyi who is the current Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, has promised to support Nigerian-made vehicles. He strongly believes that supporting such initiatives will enhance the economic growth of Nigeria. Adeniyi made this pledge after test-driving one of the factories for made-in-Nigeria vehicles. The official X account of the Nigeria Customs Service disclosed this on Friday.

According to Adeniyi, “This is our Nigerian product, and we owe ourselves and Nigerians the obligation to give them a chance. We cannot continue to rely solely on imported vehicles, so every effort is being made through a number of concessions. The only way to support the local industry further is to see how we can put their product into use, and this is the first step that we have taken. We will have to consider all the other factors around procurement, and then we will be happy to strike some partnership deals with them. So this is a very good start. I’m impressed by what I’ve seen. I drove the car over a distance, and we negotiated good speed and acceleration.

The Sales Manager at Mikano Motors Abuja, Hassan Ghandour, assured customers of the seats’ appeal, affordability, and variety of options. He also emphasized plans to supply the Nigerian Customs with premium quality products. Ghandour said, “This visit is to show what we can supply to Nigeria Customs and how we can support them. We provide good quality and affordable products. We are not only supplying cars, but we are also giving warranty to our products. The warranty lasts up to six years for 200,000 kilometres for any manufacturing defect. We also offer after-sales service and spare parts.

Ghandour added, “We have Sedan, compact SUVs, large SUVs, and smart SUVs with the latest technology with artificial intelligence technologies. We also have a pickup truck, Changan. Our products are affordable in terms of price and are customized for Nigeria. We take into consideration the weather, roads, and budget of our clients.
