Perhaps, it was the prayer said by motorists before leaving home that saved him from untimely death on Friday morning, April 15, when the container from a trailer fell on his car on a Lagos highway.
The incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. in front of De-Rembrandt Hotel inward Alausa in the Ikeja area of Lagos State, when the driver of the trailer suddenly lost control of the vehicle, causing the container to fall off.
As the container fell off, it landed on the oncoming Toyota Camry car, destroying the back passenger’s side of the vehicle in the process and only God knows what would have happened if it had landed on the driver’s side.

As a result of the incident, there was massive traffic gridlock on the highway while officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were on the ground to attend to the situation.
The incident was announced by LASTMA on its Twitter handle which added that the area had been cordoned off for recovery and evacuation of the affected vehicle and container.
The incidence of containers falling on vehicles and sometimes leading to death has always been a common occurrence on Lagos highways.
