Most of the time, drivers are unaware of their responsibilities when it comes to road safety. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is an agency that is responsible for overseeing road safety in Nigeria.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is a government agency that has responsibilities for the safety of all road users in Nigeria. It was established in 1988 by Ibrahim Babangida, the military leader who was the country’s president at that time. It is the leading agency in the country when it comes to managing road safety.

Despite the various traffic management agencies that have been established in Nigeria, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) is still responsible for ensuring the safety of road users.

    Observation: To a large extent, safety of our roads is limited to checking of vehicles that are road Worthy as against dilapidated ones, activities of FEMA as per working on potholes, dangerous cum reckless driving by tailer’s, etc. Why?

  3. Tyres don’t have expiry date. Nigerians and especially road safety should know that. Tyre is made of rubber and it’s durability depends on a lot of factors like when u started using it, the condition u use them, how rough u use them….

    Are you one of them too? Because all these you listed have never been checked by Any FRSC i know.
    The only thing FRSC does on roads is to create a roadblock where there’s potholes on the road just to collect #500 naira from bus drivers.

  6. all this we had now is it a job for police man to be asking for driving licence and other things you had here or collecting money for it the people.
