Maybach has introduced the new Maybach S580e, the first-ever PHEV model. Outside you would never be able to tell the difference unless you saw the badge out back. It will launch in China first then in Thailand, Europe and other countries later on. No V8 or V12 will be found here either.
Under the hood is a 3.0L inline-6 turbo paired to an electric motor to make 510HP and 553 lb-ft of torque capable of 0-60 in 5.1 sec with a 155MPH TopSpeed.
It also can be optioned with a 60kW DC charger to allow for a full battery in 30 min vs the standard 11kW charger. The battery likely is a 28kWh pack with a range of 62 miles on the WLTP cycle.
Most of the electric components are discretely integrated with the charger port on the left rear fender and blue accents can be found in the headlights. Inside also gains battery charging information.
