Before the death of Muammar Gaddafi, he intended to transform Libya’s automobile industry. The late revolutionist designed a rocket car to mark the beginning of his plans for the Libyan auto industry.
On August 31st, 2009, he unveiled a new concept vehicle he had designed and was producing.
According to reports, his plan for Libya was for the country to start producing its cars.
The rocket car he designed featured a conventional body. However, its front and rear grille were designed to look like a rock. The car’s safety features include numerous airbags, an inbuilt electronic defence system, and a collapsible bumper.
The vehicle, which was a five-passenger sedan, was given the official name of “Saroukh el-Jamahiriya,” in the Libyian language, which it interprets as “Libyan Rocket.”
