Volkswagen recently released a concept that the brand noted for the off-road EV vehicle it wants to build.

The company has already built the prototype, which it has also shown to the ID. Drivers Club in Switzerland.

While the GTX is the currently high-performing version of the ID.4, things are being switched up with the ID.XTREME concept.

Massive off-road tyres have been fitted in the car, and it has a tiny 18-inch black wheel courtesy of OZ Racing.

There’s also a new front bumper, a nudge bar, and a roof carrier with LED lights.

The car will have new spoilers at the back and larger wheel arches. These new features are in 3D prints using a mixture of carbon, resin, and plastic.

It looks like an ID.4 getting a facelift, and with this facelift, the car is now 50mm wider than the car it’s based on. In terms of power, it’ll use the same electric underpinnings the ID.4 GTX uses.

However, the ID.XTREME has been tweaked to deliver more horsepower.

While the ID.GTX has only 295horsepower (220kW), the ID.XTREME delivers 382horsepower (285kW).

There’s also a power upgrade, 0-97km/h (0-60mph) in four seconds. Plus, its 82kWh battery pack gives it a range of around 580km (360mi). With this battery, anyone can enjoy an excellent off-roading experience.

The car looks and sounds promising, but there’s no certainty Volkwagen will build it or something like it.

If they did, it’s certainly going to be more expensive than the ID.4 GTX, which is currently priced at $72,000 (₦43,2000,00)
