The 2022 GMC Hummer EV “Super Truck” is Finally Here

Ladies and gentlemen, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV is here, and boy is it strange. It’s dubbed a “super truck,” and it mixes classic Hummer style components with a futuristic design on the inside and exterior. Front and centre is a big LED light bar, a roof-mounted light, a broad bumper with tow hooks and integrated lights, and other features. The body is sturdy and contoured, and the back end is pickup-style with LED lighting. Oh, and the tires are regular 35in. ⠀

Only the tri-motor top-of-the-line variant with 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque will be available initially (not the real number, probably 800 lb-ft of torque). The GM Ultium 800v DC fast-charging battery has a 350kWh quick charging capacity and can go 100 miles in 10 minutes. CrabWalk’s four-wheel steering is a cool new feature, and the air suspension can be raised up to six inches. It can also cross 2 feet of water and accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds.

The inside is incredibly fantastic, with a 13.4-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital display, and heaps of creative elements like the horizontal rigging style of the buttons, dash, and steering wheel. There are 18 camera perspectives to choose from, as well as a drift gauge. 

The Hummer EV first edition, which will be painted in Lunar Horizon white and available in Fall 2021, will cost $112,000 (N46m). It will have an Infinity sky roof with detachable panels, adaptive dampers, an extreme off-road kit with 35in rubber underbody protection, and CrabWalk 4 wheel steering. 

The EV3X with three motors will cost $99,000 (N40.6m) in 2022, followed by the EV2X for $89,000 (N36.5m) in 2023, and the original EV2 for $79,000 (N32.4m) in 2024.
