Mercedes has pulled off the wraps of the new 2025 GLC 63s and the GLC43 and they both have 4-cylinders

The GLC63 not only is a 4-cylinder but also a plug-in hybrid. Here we have a 2.0L Turbo 4 (M139) making 469HP alone. It uses an electric turbocharger. This is paired with a rear-mounted electric motor to make 201HP. Mercedes says it can drive 8 miles in EV mode. Combined we get 671HP and 752 lb-ft of torque, 0-60 in 3.4sec and a 177MPH top speed, slower than the V8 GLC63.

It features multiple “exhaust enhancing” speakers to make up for the lack of a V8. This is paired to a 9-speed multi-clutch gearbox and the e-motor has its own 2-speed unit. It also offers 4Matic+ AWD

The GLC43 uses a 2.0L Turbo-4 with e-boost to make 416HP. 0-60 happens in 4.7sec.

Under the hood, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC63 packs the same powertrain as the latest AMG C63 sports sedan. The 469-hp M139 turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four is mated to nine-speed wet-clutch transmission as well as a rear-mounted 201-hp electric motor that operates through a two-speed transmission and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential to send power to the rear wheels.

The GLC63 uses an unequal-length control arm suspension setup at each corner, and the steel springs are paired with adaptive dampers. The GLC63 is also fitted with active roll stabilization that runs off of a 48-volt electrical system to help reduce body roll. Rear-wheel steering should help the GLC63 feel more nimble and the brakes have been upgraded, with 14.7-inch discs up front and 14.2-inch rotors in the rear.

Inside isn’t too different from a normal AMG line GLC either. Here we have carbon trim, sports seats and a sport steering wheel. That’s about it. This also goes for the GLC 43. The 43 comes first, in early 2024 as a 2024 model, and the 63 will come in late 2024 as a 2025 model.
