In a recent podcast interview with Taymesan Emmanuel, on his Tea With Tay podcast, the Nigerian actress Ini Edo reflects on how people question her wealth whenever she buys a car.
During the interview, she tells Taymesan: “I’ve lived this story all my life. Between 2005 and 2007, I bought my second car. My first car was a coupe convertible. About 2006 or thereabout, before I even moved to Lekki. I bought this truck, a Murano. It just came out at the time. It was like I was the only one in the industry who had it, and I remember everyone going crazy. ‘How did she afford to buy this?’ They made so much fuss about it and I checked my account.”
She goes on to talk about how hard she worked hard consistently for six years, had three jobs in one week, and her payments kept increasing. She tells Taymesan: “Even when I bought that truck, I still had enough.”
