The car the tyre burst accident occured in was a Mercedes-Benz which was later towed away from the express by an invited towing van.
Presently, tyre problems have become one of the major causes of road accidents in Nigeria. The most common tyre blowout cause is under-inflation. An under-inflated tyre will bulge out under your car’s weight, causing it to bounce up and down when driven at speed.

What this then causes is a high level of friction, resulting in heat that will weaken the tyre and eventually leads to it bursting.
Some of the things any driver can do when their tyre burst while drivin is to;
- Maintain a safe driving speed
- Do not slam on the brake pad
- Do not hurriedly take out your foot from the car accelerator
- Try your best to keep the vehicle pointed straight
- Allow the vehicle to gradually move to a stop.
On the other hand, constantly checking your car tyre and going for constant car maintenance will help you avoid tyre rupture.
