This moped is the upgraded bike version that the automaker has just launched. It has a quirky look but still costs more than a used Corolla. In fact, the price of this bike will buy you a decently used Toyota vehicle or even a Benz.
The bike is exclusively available in North America, with few colours. There’s only one colour: Sky Blue, which is the same colour as the Polestar O2 electric roadster concept.
This Polestar moped makes sense for people living in crowded cities like Lagos. It has a range of 60 kilometres (37 miles), which is okay for an urban commute.
And the top speed of the 43km/h (27 mph) is pretty.
With this bike, you won’t run faster than cars; it’s just for regular commutes and not for bike racing. The most important thing, with it, you won’t be stuck in Lagos traffic.

The Polestar moped costs $5,300 (3,9220,000), enough to buy a Nigerian-used 2006 Corolla or even an old model Benz.
About Polestar
Polestar was created in 1996 as Volvo’s subdivision for sports models. However, when Chinese multinational giant Geely acquired Volvo in 2010, management began exploring different ways to turn Polestar into a standalone brand.
That’s what they achieved 5 years later. Even though Volvo and Polestar still co-exist under the Geely umbrella, they are independent.
Volvo focuses on family sedans and SUVs, whereas the Polestar brand is used for electrified high-performance vehicles.
