French Police Impounded BMW After It Was Involved In Street Racing Activities

French police recently crushed two BMW 3-Series cars that were allegedly involved in illegal drifting activities on public streets in the northern part of the country.

One of the car owners claims he wasn’t given a fair chance to defend himself legally before his vehicle was destroyed, and a crowdfunding effort is underway to raise money for a lawyer to represent him in an upcoming hearing.

The crushing of the cars appears to be a result of strict laws introduced in France in 2018 to combat a significant increase in stunt driving, with punishments including hefty fines, imprisonment, license suspension, and vehicle confiscation.
