Geoffery Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, says that the Federal government will spend $1.2 million approximately ₦876 million with dollar black market rate of N730 to buy 40 high-end Buses that will be used to get Nigerians stuck in Sudan out of there.
After the meeting of the Federal Executive Council, Onyeama told state house reporters about this. Onyeama said that despite the 72-hour truce deal in Sudan, the Federal government will move people out within days.
During the escape, he said, women and children will be given the most attention. The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada, said that no Nigerians have died so far. He also said that the first group of Nigerians is being moved right now and that citizens will be moved by bus through Egypt and then flown out. He also said that some Nigerians had already been taken to Saudi Arabia, where they will soon meet up with the plane.
